Our mission

The objective of The Quito Project is to use a holistic approach to improve the health, education, and well-being of our target communities in Quito and provide them with the tools necessary to rise out of poverty. Our ongoing goal is achieving sustainability and community integration of our initiatives.

We provide holistic care to our target communities through a number of multi-disciplinary interventions, some of which are core programs of the Quito Project, and others that arise and change from year to year, based on a particular need identified in the community.

Our Core Programs

With the help of our target communities and La Fundacion San Martin (our Ecuadorian non-profit partner), The Quito Project has developed four programs addressing communities' most basic needs. These programs are: a free medical clinic, public health interventions, social work interventions, and tutoring.

Additional Programs

In addition to our core programs, The Quito Project has a number of programs that either address specific needs in the community or help further our mission through special projects. These additional programs are: the creation of a film focusing on health and healthcare in Ecuador, a penpal program with Quito children, and educating our community at home. In the past, we have also undertaken two construction projects, constructing a community bathroom facility and a small study shelter. These additional programs not only further the Quito Project mission, but also lend us flexibility in meeting specific community needs and give our volunteers the freedom to design, create, and implement new projects each year.
